We at Deadly Reads are happy to announce that Author and Screenwriter Doug Richardson has released Reaper: The second installment of The LuckyDey Series. Doug has brought back Lucky Dey, and on -again/off again Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective, who is both willful and acerbic to a dangerous fault.
Book Description: It’s the Fourth of July holiday, and Los Angeles is smothered in record heat. Newly reinstated Sheriff’s Deputy Lucky Dey is rookie Shia St. George’s training officer. Lucky’s obsession with a deplorable ghettocide sets them on a collision course with a ruthless OG—Original Gangster. But the past is sneaking up on Lucky. The revelation of the Reaper tattoo he keeps under wraps arouses appetites for violence and vengeance on streets where seemingly no lives matter.
Driven to deliver justice where injustice is a way of life, morally complex Lucky Dey handles business the only way he knows how. His way. See the book at Amazon.
We got the opportunity to speak with Doug on Deadly Reads Radio in March. It was an interesting and fun interview with Doug. He is such a nice guy, and we wish him lots of luck with his new release. We have invited Doug back to Deadly Reads Radio, and we look forward to his returning.
Though Doug Richardson was born in Southern California, he grew up outside Sacramento and inside the state capital. He used to talk his way into the then Governor Ronald Reagan’s office just to get a handful of jellybeans.
Doug attended the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema. For as long as he could remember, Doug had wanted to be a movie director. But in pursuing his goal he discovered how movies are really made: in writing.
Doug’s first feature film, the sequel to Die Hard, Die Harder was produced in 1990. He has since written and produced feature films including the box office smash hits Bad Boys, Money Train, and Hostage. His motion pictures have collectively grossed over a billion dollars in domestic and international revenue.
In 1997, Doug’s debut novel, DARK HORSE, was published by Avon/Marrow in hardcover, followed two years later by his followup, TRUE BELIEVERS. More recently, he’s returned to authoring the L.A. crime noir suspense thrillers, 99 PERCENT KILL, THE SAFETY EXPERT, and BLOOD MONEY. In December 2015, Doug has published THE SMOKING GUN, the first in a collection of essays from his popular blog.
